Abstract
Eating well plays a critical role in keeping sports fun and safe. This is especially true for highly active kids. All kids need to eat a variety of healthy foods, and athletes are no different. Additional calories are needed to fuel their energy requirements for optimum performance on the field.
Good nutrition (pre, during and post sports) will not, by itself, make a good golfer great but it will help with the concentration level, to have energy even at the end of a long day and to recover fast. With good nutrition, chances are the kids will not only have better health but more energy for playing golf.
All golfers can benefit from better nutrition and proper hydration. In this article, general nutritional needs and strategies to optimize performance and enhance recovery for children golfers will be discussed.
